Touchpad

I can't get the settings of my touchpad right.  It just seems to have a mind of its own.  Here are some examples:

  • When I position the mouse pointer and left-click, it usually takes several goes before the cursor appears at the chosen spot.
  • If I am not very careful about how I place my fingers for a two-finger gesture, the screen leaps to display all open panes.  The same thing happens if I sweep too abruptly across the touchpad with one finger.
  • The cursor “jumps” to other places on the screen when I am not intending it to.  I guess that the slightest touch makes that happen.

I have the touchpad parameters set on minimum sensitivity.  I have tried several settings.

I would appreciate guidance of how to improve this.
