I have been waiting for so long to share my thoughts on my 15" XPS laptop which I bought last year because I was waiting that some miracle will happen, probably some amazing update, yet problems stay with me, and I have decided to write most likely a meaningless post. It is ridiculous that a €2000 laptop cannot properly run without a Throttlestop software (thank you Throttlestop, you are an amazing app) because otherwise the CPU would be just stuck on 800 MHz no matter what are the settings. I literally thought that the lags which had occurred during my work are there simply because the project is too demanding /until I checked the hardware performance and realized where the problem lays! It was just the lousy laptop, which after the BD PROCHOT unlock, finally started working like it is new. So much time = so much money wasted! In addition, I would like to point out the underwhelming thermal capabilities of this laptop. I know this is not a gaming laptop, but occasionally I like to play some. On this laptop I would not be able to play even less demanding game like Counter Strike on medium settings because after it reaches certain temperature, it goes to choke and game runs on like 10 FPS. Here, the savior is once again Throttlestop that helps me to undervolt the hardware by -0.103V, leaving the laptop pleasantly cool with no throttling. If these problems were already tackled in the past, I am sorry for creating a buzz again, but maybe it will help somebody. The whole thing just leaves me upset about my laptop decision, and of course with a Windows start-up rule for Throttlestop (lol) because otherwise no work would be done on this device.
