XPS 17 9700, left speaker not working

I have the Dell XPS 17 9700 and I get problem with left speaker some times stopped without any reason. I restart laptop, go to the BIOS and disable/enable sound, then the left speaker back to working.

I have the same issue with my XPS 17 9700.  Left speaker stops working randomly.  I would disable/enable the audio in the bios and it would fix it for a while.  No that doesn't even work any more.  Disable/reenable sound devices, reinstall drivers, nothing helps.

Any updates on this @DELL-Cares ? My 9700 does this intermittently, a full shutdown + reboot usually fixes it though. I never had this happen until after I installed the latest BIOS update (I purchased my unit in July 2020), so that plus the fact that a power cycle fixes it makes me think it's a software issue. Hoping for a resolution without playing a part swapping game

Both speakers worked initially and then after about two weeks the left speaker stopped working randomly and now occurs more frequently. Both are good on the headphones or if I reboot the computer - so it is a software problem - but once it stops working you need a reboot to fix it. Very annoying on zoom calls as I use the speakers and you suddenly cannot hear people at times. Luckily, we are not in a global pandemic and using zoom all day working from home, otherwise this would be a horrible fault to have.

I found a soultion that fix this problem , you must remove MaxxAudio Pro by Waves – Speaker and Microphone Audio Control and Nx 3D Sound applcation .
    thats all .

    Thanks for posting this solution.

I've tried that and it didn't work. Any other suggestions?

I have the same issue with my 1 month old XPS17 9700.

Randomly, the left speaker has stopped working. I've tried all suggestion incluind re-installing drivers and disabling MaxxAudio. Still the problem persists: Left audio is dead, and the audio on the right sounds distorted.

    Who can help? Thank you!
