I have a Celerra NX4 and I am attempting to provision the disks of my DAE using the disk provisioning wizard. I am getting the following error: "raidgp::get_disk_technology, Empty disk list."
The DAE is recognized by the NX4 and when I run the provisioning wizard, the space is there for me to provision. I just get the above error during the process of the actual provisioning.
I read that this may be due to the expansion enabler pack file not being installed. I went through the steps to install the enabler file located at
Home > Support > Product and Diagnostic Tools > Celerra Tools >NX4, NX4FC then select Step 5: Configure for Production > Perform Common Post-CSA Tasks > Configure Additional Storage For Your System > Click here for more information > NX4 which opens the PDF http://corpusweb130.corp.emc.com/ns/NX4/maintain/CRU/nx4_dae_add.pdf . The steps for installing the enabler pack using Unisphere Service Manager do not reflect what is actually seen in the program.
For instance, the directions state to open USM, then go to Software / System Software / Prepare for Installation to run the Prepare for Installation Wizard. The problem is, there is no Prepare for Installation section or option. I only see Download Software, Pre-upgrade Health Check, and Perform Software Update. These options either check with EMC for firmware updates for Celerra or ask for a .upg file which is not what the enabler pack file is. Its an .ena.
So what I need are proper instructions for how to install the enabler pack file for my Celerra NX4. Seems the current documentation out in Powerlink is incorrect.
Thanks for the help and I appreciate the assistance.
I went the route of calling my service rep and opening a live chat SR. With both of them, their first reaction was to engage professional services at a charge since I didn't buy the installation service.
I am capable of setting up the SAN myself, however the EMC documentation on how to enable the DAE is incorrect. I need the correct document. Right now I am waiting on a tech to call me regarding this issue.
