Isilon Cloudpool license for archiving data to a third party Isilon cluster
We are thinking of using cloudpools to archive data to a third party provided storage service.
The third uses Isilon cluster on their side as well to provide storage for use with cloudpool.
I have read that if cloudpool is being used with another Isilon as the archive location then no cloudpool license is required. Following article says "The CloudPools license for using either another Isilon cluster or EMC ECS will be free to customers." :-
What’s New in Isilon OneFS 8.0 | GeekFluent
Also, one of the EMC documentation mentions the same thing.
But the third party vendor is saying we need the license and the config options for cloudpool are greyed out in our system.
Please advise if this is possible without the license requirement?

If you intend to use CloudPools to another Isilon, you still need a licence, but there is no charge for it. You should speak to your sales team about obtaining a license key.
Keep in mind that when archiving to an Isilon, is is highly advisable that the archived data be replicated to another Isilon to protect the data chunks.
