CPU socket type = ?

I have a dimension 4550 with a p-4 2.5 Ghz in it.  I am trying to build a new upgraded computer.  I want to know what the socket is for this cpu and if it will fit in a "Intel Socket T(LGA775" mobo.

    The Dimension 4500 takes Intels socket 478 processors, the processor you are looking at to upgrade to (socket LGA775) will not run in the Dimension 4550 as its a whole new chipset and will not work in older motherboards.

    I understand that.  But I want to know if the cpu I have will work in a newer motherboard. 
     
    I am trying to harvest as much as I can off the dell and put it into this new computer that I am building.  I need to know if the cpu I have will fit in this motherboard, not if a new cpu will fit in the dell.
