GX110 Drivers

My mother  just got a blannk GX110, and now i get to makee it work.  My questionn is, as i don't know what eexactly is inside for HD, exact sound card, is it possible to create a driver cd with all the drivers on it, so as to be able to just insert the disk and let the computer figure it out?

    Thanks for the quick reply... I have thee tag and i know where the drivers, i don' know the etthernet card, hard drive, where theree are multiplle on-board options. So what i wannt to reallly know is if i d/l the driver, is itt just a zip of files that i can burn to a disk so i have alll option searchable, or are they install files tthat have to be indvidually run .

    It would help to know which operating system you're planning on installing, but here are some general reference sources:

    http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/opgx110/  Documentation - GX110.  If you don't know which processor you have, post the Service Tag ID for the system here.  The Service Tag should be on a label somewhere on the case, or on the rear chassis. 

    http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/en/product_support_hub?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn  Product Support - view Knowledge Base articles, obtain drivers, request support, the works.
     
    Once you know which OS you'll have on there, it's easy to download the correct drivers, etc. to put on a CD.  If you post the service tag, we can probably help you find out which hardware was originally installed on there, which will make it easier to find drivers and documentation.

    If you go out and buy a FULL COPY of windows XP and boot from the CD and install you dont need to know any drivers.

    Everything you need is on the XP install CD.

    1) Go to Support.dell.com; put in YOUR service tag; in the select a tool drop down window select original configuration;  This is not always comprehensive but can get you going.

    2) .Look on your actual motherboard for it's part number (for example 002TR).  This may or may not be the part number number listed on that original configuration page mentioned above.  You can do a search on google for the 5 digit part number.  All kinds of places are selling this thing so might find the specs listed under one.  If not, email them and act like you want to buy one and ask for the specs.  If they want to sell you one they'll spend the time answering you.

    3) You won't like this option probably.... call Dell after you have the part number off the motherboard and ask them to look up that part number and tell you what comes on it.   They can get it.

    4) Answer this including the service tag and motherboard part number and someone looking on this site may be able to help you.
