I've been using a Dell Latitde E4300 since last October. Everything works OK except one thing : the fingerprint reader.

I configured embassy security center, enrolled a few fingers for authentication and started using the laptop.

It seemed to work flawlessly but I encountered a huge problem :

Every time the laptop goes to sleep mode (I'm using Windows 7 x64), it gets impossible to lock back in when waking it up. For instance, I leave my computer when going to lunch, and then come back one hour later. I press the power button which makes it leave standby. The logon screen pops up, asking me to either enter password or wipe my finger on the sensor.

BUT :

When I do either of the two actions, nothing happens. Nothing at all, pressing enter or clicking the arrow does not unlock the computer, same thing when trying to use the fingerprint reader. I know it's not crashed because I could hear the new mail sound of Outlook behind.

It's just that, when waking up from sleep mode, it's plain impossible to unlock my session. The only solution is to brutally switch it off then back on. I tried reformatting and doing a fresh install twice, install Dell Control Points and drivers in different orders, updated the BIOS, TPM and finger sensor to their latest respective firmwares, nothing changed.

It's a MAJOR problem to me and I can't find any solution.
