Putting a magnet on my 2005FPW?

I have a magnetic iSight mount, wich is made for Apples Cinema Displays. Will I harm my Dell screen in any way, if I put this magnet on it?

Don't know about that screen, but a good friend of mine placed a magnet on this wide screen and messed it up until the repair man came out and fixed it

it should only affect crt but personally i wouldnt put magnets near any electronic stuff in general
