How do I do a Directive to skip a specific database in a specific instance?

Windows 2k3
Networker 7.3.4
SQL module 5.0.0.154

I would like to make a directive to skip a specific database in a specific instance. What would the specific syntaxis be?
Is this actually possible?
Should this be done in the client config directly?

    Edit your Backup Command to use: nsrsqlsv -h

    I am trying to not use the backup command because it has a 256 character limit. I have to skip 10 databases with long names and it is impossible to fit it into 256 characters.

    and how many databases you have to backup? You can always list the databases you want in the saveset field (at least the character limit there is bigger).

    Those are only the two ways I know to what you want, either list only the databases you want in the saveset list, or skip the ones you don't want using backup command -h option.

    Unfortunatley the databases in the instance change constantly and we have no way of keeping the save details up to date. If there is a new bata base created we need Legato to pick this up automaticly. We only know that certain databases will always fail during backup and that we do not want to back these up.

    Is there a way of putting a wild card in the command line? I.e. if all the database I want to skip start with BAN... is there a way of saying nsrsql -h BAN* ??

    This may not be the solution you are looking for but I will suggest it anyway;

    1. Create a schedule task for each database you wish to backup to back itself to a specific folder
    2. Backup the folders.

    Obviously this depends on the number of databases you have and you free storage capacity...etc

    Thanks, but the instance itself is huge and this would not be possible I am afraid.

    Make a script which identifies instances running and you wish to backup and call module CLI backup for them.

    Thanks for the help, we have solved the issue by ending the backups.
