VBA/EBR backup connections requirements

Hi all,

i'm implementing VMware protection with Networker 8.1 + VBA (0,5 TB) + DD .

I've created a policy in order to send data to DD.

When i start the policy ,the backup operation on the VBA start well.

I can see very good performance for my streams to DD.

At the end of the policy ,it fails with exit code 1 (..seems probe problem..)

From EBR recovery wizard i can see all my backup eligible for restore

So i think that :

-VBA (AVE) backup and restore work fine

-there is a problem when networker server have to save index for vm

I'd like know the connection requirements between all Actors :

-VBA

-NW server

-VMs

-DD

-Vcenter

the question is :

Is mandatory connection/resolution between VMs and VBA?

Is mandatory connection/resolution between VMs and NW server ?

Thx in advance

-Nicola

Please consider moving this question as-is (no need to recreate) to the proper forum for maximum visibility.  Questions written to the users' own "Discussions" space don't get the same amount of attention and can go unanswered for a long time.

You can do so by selecting "Move" under ACTIONS along the upper-right.  Then search for and select: "NetWorker Support Forum".

    Hi all,

i've solved all my problems with VBA

it's mandatory that the VBA is able to contact every ESX hosts pointing to the output of "hostname" command on the ESX host.

For me the solution was adding a second NIC to my VBA in order to permit contacting between VBA and ESXhosts

    regards,
