OPTIPLEX XE2 "Alert! Rear fan failure" message during POST

While booting my Optiplex XE2 desktop a message appears that says "Alert! Rear fan failure."

To continue press F1 key

To change setup option press F2 key

To run onboard diagnostics press F5 key

This message appears even though the original Dell fan is installed and even though it is fully functional and spins without any issues.

What steps can I take within the BIOS or somewhere else so that this desktop will boot into Windows without being halted with this error message?

    A few steps to try:

    • Make sure fan is clean.
    • Unplug fan.  Start PC.  It should show same error message.  Turn off and unplug PC.  Plug fan back in.  Turn on PC.
    • May need to replace fan if it is no longer relaying correct messages to the MB.
    • Long shot, but one more step if above troubleshooting steps don't work before replacing fan:  How to Perform a BIOS or CMOS Reset and Clear the NVRAM on Dell Computers and use a brand new size 2032 CMOS battery.

What's the correct part number to order a replacement fan?

The fan is a FoxConn Model: PVA092J12H-P01.

I'm not sure if I can use this exact part number or if a different part number or Dell FRU number needs to be used.

I Googled "FoxConn Model: PVA092J12H-P01" and quite a few of them things came up.

I also Googled the same thing and you're right quite a few things come up.

My question is what is the genuine fan model that I can order that will be fully compatible with this computer so that this error message won't appear when the computer is booted up?

I believe 80mm is the rear fan and 92mm the front fan.  I didn't know it had a front fan.  If you want, you can always measure to double-check.
