5820 PCI setup

Folks,

I have a 5820. With Xeon, I have a Quaddro p2000 graphics, 3 Magewell PCIEx4 Video encoding cards and a thunderbolt PCI card also.

I have a problem in that the magewell cards appear to being throttled which is making running 4 ports at 1080p not work like it should. I wonder if what I'm trying to do is over the limit of this machine? if so is there another machine ideally a workstation. Or is there a solution?

my understanding was:

Two PCIe x16 slots
one PCIe x16 wired internally as an x8 slot,
One PCIe x16 wired internally as x4
One PCIe x16 wired internally as x1

Slot 1 has the P2000

Slot 2 has a Magewell Card

Slot 3 has a Magewell Card

Slot 4 has a Magewell card

Slot 5 has the thunderbolt card.

So I would have thought this would work at least the only card that should be throttled is likely the thunderbolt card?

If anyone knows of a way to get lots of x4 cards in a motherboard let me know!

Thanks for any help.

Cheers,

Neil

    Hello,

    actually is

    Slot 1 : pcie x16 at 8x

    Slot 2 : pcie x16

    Slot 3 : pcie x16 at 1x

    Slot 4 : pcie x16

    Slot 5 : pcie x16 at 4x

The Thunderbolt card can only be used in slot 4 and 5

So your card in slot 3 is down to x1
