Samsung CDRW/DVD SN-324S not recognizing CD's or Data CD's

As stated above... the drive works perfectly with DVD's...
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the device.
I have cleaned the lens and uninstalled Roxio.
Still no joy. It worked one time when I first used the drive.

Please advise a speedy solution.
I need this to work for rehearsals and performances soon.

    Did you find a solution for this problem? I've been having a similar problem it does recognize data because I was able to install my webcam using the CD-room but when I tired to open any data CD it shows as not having any CD inside. I can do it with DVDs , open and watch like nothing is wrong. I tires rolling back teh driver re-installing but nothing works my computer is less then a week old. I read some messages here costumers had problems with this Samsung CDRW/DVD SN-324S for years and the only way to fix it is replacing for a new one. I'll contact costumer support to see what's going on. Thanks

    Yeah!  Dell replaced my DVD/CD Rom drive.  Call customer support as it is a known issue.

      Thanks. Yeah I woke up today and still doesn't work I guess that's the only real solution I just hope that they send me a different brand, I'll request that to make sure.
