Spybot 1.5 Beta

Does anyone know when Spybot 1.5 will no longer be a Beta product?  Is it safe and stable?  Is it advisable to upgrade from 1.4 yet?  I'm currently running 1.4 for the tea timer protection only.  I can't scan due to a conflict with NIS 2007.

i have been running spybot 1.5, including TeaTimer, since about build 1.5.1.12 --- it's currently up to 1.5.1. 18 Beta2, and can be downloaded from

Note:  the MajorGeeks site emphasizes that the above is a Beta, and offers you an alternative download for the most recent "stable version": 1.5.1.15 "final"
HOWEVER, if you opt for 1.5.1.15, be advised this "stable"/"final" version has significant known problems... specifically, the extremely slow speed at which spybot loads itself, as well as speed issue with its update window.

Despite being classified as beta, I have confidence in its author and history, to use and recommend it.   Granted, some people are still experiencing some problems.   for more information, you can check out the spybot beta forum:

I have no idea when it will actually come out of beta.   the next build, 1.5.1.19, is expected to be released very soon.

by the way, if you're using teaTimer 1.4, don't you have a problem viewing and acting upon the messages it displays?  or have you applied a "patch" to fix that problem?

    ky331, thanks for the info.

Display is fine, I readjusted the co-ordinates and then recompiled the program.

"Display [in TeaTimer 1.4] is fine, I readjusted the co-ordinates and then recompiled the program".

Not everyone is/was aware that a "fix" was available... nor are people necessarily comfortable with implementing it.   I stayed away from TeaTimer until the "glitch" was officially fixed in version 1.5

I think Spybot is following Google's lead and keeping their software in beta permanently.
