Microsoft Works 9 Calendar.

Hi.
I have a problem with my Microsoft Works 9 Calendar.
Have done everything, what Microsoft website recommends   and the Works calendar does
not open. The error message pops-up:” Works cannot access one or more files it
needs or run the Calendar…”
Read only is unchecked. Virus, malware scanned, file association done, the
computer scanned for bad sectors, hard drive cleaned, files defragmenter.
I really don’t know what more can be done in order to repair Microsoft
works 9.0 Calendar, which stopped working suddenly two days ago and sice then I search Internet for a help.
If someone here could give me any help I would appreciate greatly.
Thanks.
Hala..

Regards.
Hala.

    Hi Dell-Ravi Chandra.
Thank you for your friendly reply.
I have a problem to perform the method 1,  as I run
    Vista-OS, 32 bit, Home Premium (Dell-Studio- 1555 Laptop) The software-Ms works
9.0 came installed  with new PC - purchase and installation CD was
    included.
I do not know where is  ‘Local Security Policy’  located
on my machine. Can’t  see it  under Administrative tools in Control
    Panel.
    Trying to perform Method 2 I found  that ” Mswkscal.wcd “
    is missing.
It is not in Program  Files ,  is not in Program Data, is
    not in Program Files/Common Files/Microsoft Shared/Works Shared
    Folders.
Also Registry Editor shows its absence.
There after I removed  Works 9.0 again  and reinstalled it
    from CD I have.
It did not help . Mswkscal.wcd is
    still missing.
I have no other  source than my CD  to restore the file,
    or entire software from .
I realize ,that the problem can lie somewhere within my
laptop and  I will not solve it with no help.
Thank you very, very much for helping
    me.
    Regards.
    Hala.

    Hi.

    Thanks for the link.

I performed the fix, and after that  the calendar  still does not open.

     I just  found, right- clicking ' Mswkscal.wcd '
that the file opens  with Internet Explorer,This  astonished me,
as the file extension 'wcd' opens with Microsoft Works by
    default.

    .
Accordingly I am trying to change file association with right program.

I keep selecting Microsoft Works with no awaited result.

(It can be changed to any program,) but Microsoft works9.0.

    .
I guess, my original Dell installation cd  got corrupted or damaged already.

I am willing to believe,, that Microsoft Works 9.0 reinstallation from Dell webside  could solve the problem, but I can't . find a link to   download  Microstoft Works 9.0.

    Thank you for helping out.

    Hala.
