I installed Office 2010 on a new Inspiron 17 (5748) and no icons, tiles or anything showed up on the Start screen or in the list of apps. I had to search for each application and install a tile and a shortcut. This is strange because on four other Windows 8 computers any program installed created a tile on the Start screen. Is this a real problem or did Dell configure Windows 8 so that installed programs can't create tiles or icons.
