1st of all why would anyone format the comp to isntall a fortran compuile, 2nd java script needs a couple lines of code to compute.

You would use WMI script (windows host scripting)  or perl  or python or php or the calc on the comp like gale pointed out.

The idea is run a Fortran4 Progrm on the PC. The Calc comment was a joke. Programs have DO Loops and IF Statements etc. etc.. YOu peole would love it. They are used for complicated calculations. A Computer can do them in seconds. It was suggested to set up a Web for that purpose. Engineers and Students could run programs on a host computer. It would be sort of like the old IBM360 Time-sharing arrangements that Universities and Corporations had in the early 70's.The DOS Window on this PC looks like it could run a program. No commands seem to be available for that purpose. Anybody like to get us up to speed on this issue?

I am well aware what Fortran is, having used it off and on for over thirty years.  To use Fortran on a PC you need a Fortran compiler.  There is on free compiler that I know of, the GNU compiler suite, nofmally used for C anc C++ can also compile FORTRAN (1977 standard).  It will take some work to install it.
