How to open Internet Explorer in Windows 10

If Internet Explorer isn’t listed on the Start menu, you need to visit the Control Panel’s Programs and Features section and install it through the Turn Windows Features On and Off area. To run Internet Explorer, follow these steps:

1. Right-click the Start button, choose Control Panel from the pop-up menu, and click the Control Panel’s Programs icon.

2. From the Programs and Features category, choose Turn Windows Features On or Off.

3. Put a checkmark in the box next to Internet Explorer 11, and click the OK button.

Restart your PC, when asked, by clicking the Restart Now button. When your computer restarts, Internet Explorer appears in the Windows Accessories area of the Start menu.

IE-11 is depreciated and basically "abandonware". I don't think it's even safe to use now-days.

If you don't like Edge, Google Chrome is good on Windows.

Give Edge a chance, me and millions of others think it is great. Maybe you just had some glitches or something.

Microsoft probably has to fully support IE11 at least until 2020 when support for Win 7 ends because Win 7 can't run Edge.

That is unless Microsoft wants to drive all current IE11 users to competing browsers like Firefox and Chrome because their PC can't run Win 10 and/or they don't like Edge.  :Wink:

I haven't run Windows-7 (or even Windows-8) on any of my machines in over 2 years (not even on the old ones).

I haven't used old clunky IE-11 on any machine about a year before that. 

I heard a lot of businesses forced to stay on Windows-7 for a while longer (or maybe just some branches) are moving to Google Chrome ... away from a default Microsoft browser for the first time.

Microsoft has to support IE11 until 2020, regardless of how many users move to Edge or Chrome, simply because they are supporting Win 7 until then, or they will lose their browser user base completely.

My desktop PC can't run anything beyond Win 7, so I'll stick with IE11 until support ends. Besides, Google already knows way too much about everyone so why give them another giant opening through which they can and will learn all our personal info?

I actually prefer IE11 on my Win 10 laptop over Edge, having used both on that PC. IMHO, Edge has been dumbed down so much there are very few, if any, settings or options a user can still change.

Press the Windows key + R keyboard combination to open the Run box. Type iexplore and press Enter. This method lets you open Internet Explorer in Windows 10, 8, 7.

And now pin it to your taskbar, so you can find it without having to go to the Start menu every time. :Wink:
