Aurora R10, diagnostic lights
Almost since day 1 when I got my R10 about 90% of the time when I boot up the PC the alien head blinks twice, has a 1 second or so pause and then blinks once. After this the computer boots up like normal. Several times the computer tells me invalid OC mode and occasionally I’ll have to go into AWCC and click on my OC profile again. I’ve run all sorts of testing in Windows and Support Assist and I can’t figure out what the problem is. The past month I’ve reinstalled windows twice and have been dealing with constant blue screens and crashes in games and programs. This has been beyond frustrating. Anyone have any ideas?!

The computer POST (Power On Self Test) ensures that it meets the basic computer requirements and the hardware is working appropriately before the boot process begins. If the computer passes the POST, the computer continues to start in a normal mode. However, if the computer fails the POST, the computer emits a series of LED codes in amber color during the start-up.
I get the same flashing 2,1 ( brand new) but the heads color is white. I have looked at youtube unboxing videos
and the heads were flashing white color. So I don't worry too much unless DELL come up with an answer
of a problem.
So far I don't see any problems. As far as re-insalling windows to solve this, is looking for trouble unless your using factory default installation (in my opnion) even then.
I would never update the bios through windows update.
For example in the windows update second page: optional update ,i'm finding one firmware update
Alienware-firmware 0.1.0.8 with the instruction " in case you have a problem" what problem ?
I can't find information on exactly what that bios update is for, what kind of problem it solves....

- I've had the 2, pause, 1, code be white and I've also seen it amber. Same as above it always starts but it doesn't always do it so it's kind of frustrating. I've reinstalled windows 3 times in the past month now. I've been running good all day now, knock on wood, but I've also been lulled into this false sense of security before.

I'm having a very similar issue. Upon attempting to boot, I get two white flashes(alien head), short pause then another white flash. This cycle just repeats. I see power to the keyboard for a second until the cycle repeats.
This happened because the system froze, I forced a shutdown by holding power button. it restarted fine but gave a warning system didn't shut down properly and the OC mode would have to be switched off in the BIOS. Me being an not so smart switched on the overclock in the command center to see if it work. Never imagined it would cause any severe issues but here I am. Quite annoyed to be honest, this is all Dell's in house software, I presume it wouldn't allow me to break itself so easily nevertheless I should have been a bit more careful.
Any help would be much appreciated.
