Just unboxed this beast from Best Buy and in getting everything running, came to this forum to read about problems.

I attached CPU-Z because I read that you can not add regular HyperX memory to the R9 because of the higher voltage requirements of the Alienware brand HyperX memory.  CPU-Z shows it running at 1.2v, which is the norm.

I talked to a Dell rep and they quoted me $99.00 for 1 stick of 8GB RAM and it was an off brand, not even Kingston.

I search Dell myself and find 2 X 8GB @  $139.00 for the R9, much better price however, it is almost twice the cost of the same Kingston memory.
