Honesty I am at my wit's end.

A week ago, my laptop's keyboard stopped functioning. The "B" button had stopped working but if you pressed it enough times it would get locked in and infinitely repeat B till you pushed it again.  Dell agreed to send an on-site technician.

I changed my schedule to work from home so that I can accommodate Dell with their on site technician and they ended up replacing almost everything except for the motherboard & the heat sinks apparently. They call me downstairs to do a test run. And the only keys functioning are the number keys at the top row & the space bar.

The technician tests out the keyboard's functions with the laptop battery pulled out and it works perfect, but once you reinstall the battery the keyboard is jacked again, going back to only the numbers and the space bar working.

I am told that if i update the bios it should fix the rest of the problems and he leaves.

I update the bios and nothing changes. Keyboard is still jacked up, but it is actually worst off than before because now NONE of the letter keys are working versus only the "B" Key.

texted with the technician and they mentioned either the motherboard or drivers.
So I update the drivers. Nothing's changed and i have not heard back from them since.

I understand hours of operation and all that. But this is beyond frustrating.
Spent 2.5k for a laptop just to have the keyboard quit on me less than 3 months later.

This was my first nice laptop i gifted to myself in ages. I was excited and this has taken all of that away. Now i'm just over it.

Update = Resolved- After completing troubleshooting, a DELL-Cares agent setup a part replacement.

Hi @Cadover  Dell do not have technicians, they assign a contractor who may never have worked on a Dell computer. Dell warranty guarantees 100% the work of their assigned contractor. However, contractor did not fix the root cause of problem. Please visit your Dell online account to update or create new Service Request, explain that Dell assigned contractor did not fix problem, and request new replacement Alienware x17 R1. Ask that your request is escalated to senior Dell tier that can authorise your requested remedy. Unfortunately, you then have to wait for authorisation of your remedy.
