1) shutdown application

2) unmount file system

3) export VG

4) remove host from source array storage group (or whatever you are copying data from)

4) start San Copy session (full or incremental ..depends on how you set it up)

5) wait for san copy session to finish

6) add host to the storage group on target array

7) reboot

8) import VG

thanks for the quick reply

The server will reman the same only the Lun will be on the new array.

Do i have to make the OS aware of the new Lun before the san copy - I dont think I do?

so san copy the to the new lun in the new array.

export the old vg (old disk) and import the new vg same new but with the new (disk)?

Export vg on source server, perform san copy, present san copy volumes to new server, import vg.

consider step4 is incremental  .Then can i have my source volumes online during the inital full copy ? So during the cut over just incremental sync on step4 and also follow the step1-8

is that right?
