I am new in EMC disk management and have a question.
I have a CX300 with only one SPS, one DPE2 and 2 DAE2.
The serial cable between the SPS and SPA is connected.
The web interface shows an "E" (empty ?) symbol at physical->standby power supplies, and under disk 0 enclosure 0 SPS A or SPS B, I see "Bus 0 enclosure 0 SPS A is not present. Cabling status is unknown". The same message is displayed for SPS B
All four leds on the SPS are off, so write cache is disabled
In the CX300 with one SPS - the SPS signal (monitoring) cable should be connected to SPA and the output from SPS will go to the power supply on the SPA side of the DPE2. The power supply on the SPB side will be connected directly to the PDU (not to the SPS). The DAE2 will also get all their power from PDU.
I am sure the cabling is correct - but you may take a look at it. Especially the fact that SPS will feed power to only one Power Supply.
However, since you mentioned that all the LEDs on the SPS are off - it seems the SPS is not working at all. Please check whether the SPS is having input power - there is no loose contact etc on the input. If not, it must be an issue with the SPS itself - so, contact your EMC CE or open a case with EMC Support to get the same replaced.
Hello! I'm new in EMC too. For me a similar problem here. Our configuration is CX500 DPE2 and 2 DAE2. On April, 5th in our data-processing centre there was ac power supplies disconnecting. The web interface after that shows F symbol at physical->standby power supplies and in properties window of Bus 0 Enclosure 0 SPS B I see "Bus 0 enclosure 0 SPS B is faulted. Cabling status is unknown". All four leds on the SPS B are off. But SPS A works fine without any faults. What can I do in this situation? Can anybody help me?
Warm welcome to you as well in the EMC support forums.
You may check the cabling once more - especially the input power cable to the SPSB. If you don't find any issue - I'll suggest to open a ticket with EMC support or contact your local EMC support person at the earliest.
By the way, just after a power recycle, the SPS charges one at a time - typically SPSA first and then SPSB - when SPSA is charging SPSB will show as faulted. However, this should not last long and once SPSB starts charging the fault should disappear. If that is not your case, as I suggested earlier, please open a case.

Please contact your service provider to change your SPS or SPS Cable
