For days I have been trying to update my (old but useful) Latitude D530 notebooks to the A12 bios (using the file D530_A12.exe).  The problem is that the file D530_A12.exe is almost certainly corrupt.

When I run the file from within Windows, I get the message "An unexpected error occurred while running the flash application .... If the error continues, please contact technical help.  Application Error Return: 0x00000504"   Following instructions in another Dell support post, I also created a bootable (DOS) USB key, booted from it, and tried to run the D530_A12.exe file.  I get the error message "Failure to analyze flash image (Error Code=504h)"

I tried to same procedures above on 2 other D530 notebooks with the same failures.  When I contacted Dell support about this, they declined to provide any help and suggested that I buy a new computer.

Any ideas how to get Dell to correct this or does anyone have a copy of the D530_A12.exe file that works?  The one currently on the Dell support is date "19 Jun 2020" and its size is "817.32 KB".  Thanks.
