Latitude e5570 keyboard upgrade
I am thinking about purchasing this laptop from somebody on Craigslist and I want to figure out if the model without the backlit keyboard can be upgraded to the backlit keyboard. From my understanding the only difference is an extra ribbon cable on the model that has backlit keyboard. Does the models motherboard without the backlit keyboard have this extra ribbon cable connector?

You can check to make sure the ZIF connector is on the system board.
Remove the Base Cover.
Then remove the MAIN battery.
This is the ZIF connector for the Backlit keyboard.
The Parts People have many models to choose from.

You are right in your assumptions. There is an additional zif connector for the backlit keyboards and you will only need a backlit keyboard. 383D7 is the part number for the US backlit keyboard if you want to get it and the installation instructions are at https://dell.to/2NMBSzX.
