Lattitude E6530 webcam problems...

After reinstalling OS, drivers, etc., I have no webcam or mic.

In Device manager, under other devices I have an unknown device, but Searching for driver gives me nothing. Have installed webcam central & get the message 'Please plug in a supported device'

Any suggestions?

    Hi mikey59,

Thanks for posting.  Apologies that your Latitude E6530 is not performing as expected.

Another user of the Forum reported success by uninstalling and reinstalling the USB root hubs, if you haven't tried this already, it might work for you.

To uninstall USB Root Hubs, in Device Manager:

    • Expand ‘Universal Serial Bus controllers’
    • From the list, look for ‘USB Root Hub’
    • Right click, choose ‘Uninstall’, choose ‘Ok’
    • Uninstall all ‘USB Root Hub’ listed
    • Wait for all the drivers to get uninstalled
    • Restarted the computer
    • Restarting the computer will install ‘USB Root Hub’s automatically on the computer

If you need assistance opening Device Manager:  Press and hold the Windows key and press 'R' key. This will open the run window -> type 'devmgmt.msc' without the apostrophes, click on 'Ok' -> this will open the Device Manager window.

    mikey59,

Uninstall the Webcam Central Software. Windows 10 uses Skype instead of WebCam Central.

Dell Webcam and Dell Webcam Central Software Guide

Click the link below to download and update the bios as well as reinstalling the chipset drivers and video card drivers. Once you reboot the system check the webcam. If it is still not detected run  the ePSA diags by starting the computer and tapping the F8 key. Choose ePSA.

Also make sure the camera is enabled in the BIOS.

In my case Latitude E6530 integrated camera was not showing up in device manager because it was disabled in the BIOS.
