Spin-off from the availability thread where we talked a bit about battery life.

I'm about to order XPS13 DE (the i5/FHD/8GB) once it shows up. It's going to be my "travel" laptop (I use 15" MBP as my primary one, and have the MBA 11" as a travel one right now) so my main focus is on battery life.

It seems that FHD instead of QHD, and i5 should help with the battery from what I read.

Now, I installed Ubuntu 16.04 on my MBA, configured it with Gnome 3.20 and tweaked the powertop features and got somewhere around 10.7-10.9 Watts. MBA (2013) has 38-watt-hour battery.

XPS 13 has 56-watt-hour battery, so it should last longer if I can get to similar power usage.

Any experience from people already testing XPS 13 with Linux on how much watts powertop reports?
