My thoughts one year in....

After about a year using the laptop......  I still love it!

I hate to jinx myself, but I have not had a single issue (Ubuntu 14.04).

I usually use it connected to a monitor, keyboard and mouse but on the occasion I do take it with me, I am always amazed at how small and sleek it is.  The keyboard and track pad work without any issues (though I usually bring a mouse).  I actually think the laptop is beautiful.

The only thing I would like to see is a 15 inch version.  Not really sure why 17 inch laptops have fallen out of favor...?  I think I would do more away from my main desk with a larger screen.  If I knew the m3800 or XPS 15 worked as well with Ubuntu as the Sputnik, I would consider buying one.

Anyways,  great job guys!

What's the size and resolution of the monitor you plug into the laptop? I'm mainly interested to hear if the external monitor's resolution is larger than full HD which the laptop's resolution is.

    It's a 24 inch with the same (1920 x 1080) resolution.

Okey, interesting. Do you run them as a dual monitor setup then?

No I do not.  The screen sizes are so different that I have a hard time adjusting when I look between them. I end up using a separate keyboard and mouse.  At work, I use a 17" laptop and a 24" without any problems.
