Graphics Amp questions..

So I got a graphics amp yesterday (still waiting on the card) - has anyone else had trouble getting the data cord from releasing after it is plugged in to the amp?  It keeps getting hung up on the top side for me...also, what are the buttons for on the flat part of the cable?

I've heard the front fan can be pretty loud, how does it compare to the sound of the laptop at full fan during gaming?

    Hi

The cable has release clips for you to unplug it. Click here to see the cable specs.

The front fan is not that loud.

Thanks - I pressed in the release clips, the one facing to the top of the amp doesn't like to let go.

If there a part number for the cable?  I tried the one in the cable but Dell's parts site didn't pull it up.

Ok, now I have it running, and I have a couple of other questions about the thing.

Is there any kind of performance difference between using the HDMI on the laptop vs the graphics card?  Right now I just have a 1080p monitor, so I don't need 4k/60 support (my A15 R1 doesn't have an HDMI 2.0 port), and my monitor only has a single input, so it's a little more convenient to just leave use HDMI on the laptop when I'm not using the AMP or when I am using it.  I wasn't sure if that ate up some of the PCIe bandwidth or how the video stream was returned to the laptop in that configuration that could result in lower performance - although at this resolution with vsync on I'm pretty much going to be capped at 60 anyway.

The cable part# is NPY83, also, you can use any HDMI port, it will not make a difference.
