Help with possible install

I have an alienware Aurora, When i purchased it i didnt have enough for the alx case just the normal one, looking online you can buy the vents on top.

can I install this to my alienware Aurora and if so, where do all the plugs go? So basically im asking anyone who has an alx to please maybe show me pics of where there are plugged into and i can see if i have these same plugs available, also maybe take a look at the ebay link and tell me if you see anything visibly missing from the pictures of the vent system being sold.

This is to mainly screw around with the overclocking on my cpu and gpu, they both support overclocking and everyone says its all about airflow and cooling once you start into overclocking, so i would like more air flow and the vents would give me that!

The honeycomb is about the same airflow. I don't over-clocking, but I would not let lack of louvers stop me.

The lovers plug into the ALX version of the MIO-Board. If yours is non-ALX, you will see that the parts for lovers and additional lights are not soldered in.

At minimum, you will need louvers and the ALX-version of the MIO-Board.

Also, why over-clock? Do you actually run apps or games that keep the stock-clock cores pegged at 100% for any length of time?

it this time no, i have an i7-930 and was told i could upgrade to the highest with my board which would be the i7-990x and my graphics card supports over clocking too but i was told heat is always an issue, the computer is 7 years old now so thats like 1000 in computer years lol, eventually im sure things will catch up with me, for all i know they already have, i have no real way to monitor things inside of new games, obviously when i jusp back to windows the values plummet, how would i go about seeing? I was told upgrading from 12gb's to 24gb's of memory and the 990x would help game loading times, go i automatically believed overclocking my current cpu could/would help..... maybe im wrong in this assumption.....

I suggest you use the machine as is. Save upgrade money and buy a new one.

As excellent as i7-930 and x58-chipset is ... you will always be limited to old 1366 pin processors, sata2-300, non-uefi, usb-2, etc.

its a pain trying to find that board because no one on ebay seems to know what the *** they have/are selling, no description matches the picture they have, they are just googling pics and not looking at them when they setup their item for sale, it says alienware aurora board and shows the alx board, or says alx board and shows my non alx board, and trying to describe to them the difference before buying only gets the person to say "oops its not the alx board" or they say yes it is and then jack the price up on me lol its annoying to think 90% of the people selling these boards have no idea what they are holding and just want money asap, i can pick up the board and vents for about 150, ill try and see if this will work....
