Hi everybody,

First of all is there no forum search link? I've been trying to look for it...

Anyways I've just recently purchased my first Alienware!

M15x with the specs
-Core i7 Q820 @ 1.73GHz
-4GB DDR3 RAM
-128GB SSD
-Nvidia GTX260M
Running windows 7 ultimate 64bit

Power setting is set to Max performance.

problems I'm having are as follows
-laggy youtube videos eventhough it's completed loaded (latest flash installed).
-when I'm downloading around 1MB/sec everything just seems sooooo slow to load eventhough I'm able to write at around 150MB/sec.
-while downloading, watching a movie from the SSD freezes,stutter LAG from all sorts of programs. -so frustrating.
-bluray or even a 1080p rip video lags audio seems fine. I've got a old desktop with a dual core which could play the same 1080p video with no problems.
-Cannot install windows XP at all install disc would boot after bios half way through loading the files a BSOD pops up with something like "Check to be sure you have adequate disk space" I've got a 2nd partition with 40gb free. I'm guessing it's the SSD issue I'll look into that.
-for some reason when AlienFX is turned on every now and then my speaker lights just flashes blue eventhough I've left all the colours to red.

-Microphone latency of about a ¼ of a sec while trying to use a mic or connecting my guitar to the laptop which is pretty annoying. I've been reading forums and it seems like a Windows 7 issue? I really need to do some recording and I'd like to install Windows XP anyone managed to do so? I can't seem to see any drivers available for XP.

I don't see what the problem is all drivers are up-to-date I've even tried to use older drives.I'm unable to download and watch a video or even youtube on a SSD. My 500gb external drive, with a test I could handle over 20 downloads at once around about 3MB/sec and able to play a video without latency or stuttering all through USB 2.0.  Feels like a waste of money when I could of saved and gone with the HDD if my external is performing better than the SSD.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Sorry about the long post.
