Beep codes for Optiplex
I've been trying to interpret beep codes from an Optiplex 150 and after scratching
my head for almost an hour I realize what has been confusing me. Coming from
an IBM background (sorry) I realize I'm used to hearing codes as a series of "long"
beeps and "short" beeps; with the Optiplex 150 I'm currently troubleshooting I
determined ALL beeps were "long" but the SILENCE between them varies from
short to long. I'm curious to know if anyone else has anyone else noticed this or
if I'm missing something altogether?

if you're looking for the beep codes, they are listed in the User's Guide located here:
they can tell you what the code means, but most of them link to the Dell Diagnostics for a solution, which doesn't quite make sense as the system has to complete POST for the diags to run.
I don't believe there is any relationship between the beeps and the length of time between them. it must just be a coincidence
