DDR2

I have a XPS Gen 4, I was wondering if I purchased 667 memory it would run at 667 (instead of clocking down to 533).

Those are aftermarket boards. They can change specs of boards.

The Generation 4 will not support 667MHz memory only 400MHz and 533MHz. Click Here

EDIT: Incorrect. DDR2-667 is supported. Crucial claims their Ballistix DDR2-667 will work.

I know I already had that data looked up. But the thing is manufacturers like Asus have manged to get ddr800 running on the standard 925XE chipset, whichout any chipset modifications.

Price is not an issue for me. Thanks for the help, just wanted to confirm before I bought the memory.

Price isn't an issue?  So, you are comfortable spending more money and getting something that gives you no added performance?  No difference than regular Crucial memory?  In other words, it's a total waste of money.  Ballistic adds no value to your Dell.

If you have extra money that you don't need, you can send it to me via PayPal.  :smileywink:
