My brother bought a dimension 4550 desktop in 2003, os windows xp home preloaded. When I try to start it up it beeps once and shuts down. the fan in turning on both psu and cpu but just don't seem to be going at full power like my other computer. I have the stock 250W PSU which I took out and tried a 350W and it did the same thing beep once and shut down. I dicovered today that on my primary cable I have my hard drive and zip drive connected, on my secondary cable I have my CDRW and DVD connected, when I disconnect my zip drive from the primary and disconnect my CDRW from my secondary the computer boots to just before my log in than freezes than reboots, over and over.... and I can't use F2 or F12 keys.

 

As a temp. fix I would like to take the hard drive out and use it in my emachine T1140, would there be any reactivation with MS being the OS is in a different computer?
