Difference...?

What is the difference between uninstalling a program through the Control Panel and uninstalling a program by going to Programs>then the program>and uninstalling....Is one method better than the other or do these both work equally as well?

75% of the things I've uninstalled through the program uses the exact program as Control Panel uses.
The only advantage of uninstalling through the program is that it removes everything, icons, start menu folders, etc. Through control panel, sometimes it misses a few things.

Thanks for explaining the difference. This has been a nagging question.
