Printer Port Error
Okay, this stems from a previous post, but let me summarize what I tried.
Dell XPS 8100 Computer.
Cannot print from Windows 2000
Cannot print from Command Prompt
Booted to Dell Diagnostic CD
Ran Parrallel Port Diagnostics, passed wiht flying colors.
Exited Dell Diagnostic CD and from the Dos screen opened edit.com and typed in some text and tried to print.
Recieved Error saying it could not print.
Went to edit.com settings and changed printer port to LPT2, then tried to print. No error, but obviously nothing printed.
Booted into setup and changed the parrallel port type to each of the three possible settings ECP, EPP and Bi-Directional and repeated the steps above, to no avail.
Brought in another printer and repeating the steaps above also to no avail.
Sat on hold for nearly 3 hours tonight waiting for a tech to answer, never did, I had to come home.
Any ideas?
