I have an Optiplex 755 with version A12 BIOS and Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66Ghz cpu. I'm trying to run Citrix Xen 5.0 on here which installs on the bare metal fine- however when I create vm guests (x86 or x64) and try to start them up, I recieve the "HVM is required for this operation" message. This would  indicate that my cpu didn't have the VT technology option enabled in the BIOS, however, I did set this to 'on'. So, as far as the BIOS is concerned, Virtualization is enabled for these logical cpu's.

I'm presuming that this is false however because I booted vt.iso and it verified that "VT is disabled in the feature control MSR" on both CPU 0 and 1.

Can anyone confirm whether this is false or not?
