the cpu usage history on the task manager seems to fluctuate alot and never seems to go any lower than 70% as i type now its constantly switching between 86 and 100%. this seems abnornally high and i have done spy and virus searches, disk fragments and disk cleanups. none of this seems to have made any difference. the majority of memory seems to be taken up by 'svchost.exe' which i know is vital to the operation of windows and so does iexplore.exe. i have 2 internet explorer windows open at this time yet 3 appear open on the process list one of them is taking up 35000k. what is going on ? the comupter seems to be running flat out when not performing many tasks and now as i type the processor rarely goes below 100% i have a 3.06ghz processor so this should be plenty of power for my usage i have 512mb of ram and have about 9gb of space left on the hard drive so its not like its too full. as a result of all this the computer runs slowly when playing games/movies and can take up to 10 mins to boot up. any suggestions greatly appreciated
