The default resolution is 1600 X 1200. Looks great that way!

All industry standard LCD panels are optimized for a specific (maximum) resolution. Using a resolution other than the optimal will result in screen stretching, distortion, or screen shrink. In addition the image and fonts may look slightly "blurry" due to the method of interpolation (a form of antialiasing) being used.

This is not considered a problem and occurs with all TFT LCDs industry wide. Each display is optimized to a specific resolution and was designed to operate at that resolution.

I had to reinstall my operating system - Windows 2000 on my Latitude C800 laptop.  Afterwards, I downloaded the available driver from the dell website.  My colors look great and the graphics are fine.  However, everything is really small and I have been unable to figure out why.  Any suggestions??

right-click on your desktop and choose Properties to get to the Display Properties. Now, choose the "Effects" tab and place a check mark in the box next to "Use large icons". Next, choose the "Settings" tab, and then click on the Advanced button. Change the DPI setting from "Small Fonts" (96dpi) to Large Fonts (120dpi). This will increase the font size so they aren't so small. Then click on OK, and then OK again. You may need to reboot to get the fonts/icons to look right on the screen.
