Difference between graphic drivers?
Hi!
I have a XPS M1710 with a geforce Go 7950 GTX.
I would like to know whether I can download and install drivers from nVidias site, or if I have to wait for Dell to "produce" drivers? I guess nVidia update more frequent than Dell, though I am not sure if their drivers will "fit right on"...?

- You have to wait for updated drivers from Dell, but don't hold your breath.
The drivers for my laptop are over 4 years old. Luckily they still work with the latest games coming out (i.e. UT3) but it irks me thinking that I could be getting a better frame rate if Dell would let ATI update my system. In fact one the guys making UT3, Mark Rein, called Dell out specifically.

What makes you think ATI would spend money on R&D for dell drivers when they dont profit off of it?notladstyle

While ATI maintains drivers for the Radeon CHIPSETS, they do not maintained proprietary drivers for the actual cards that populat different brands of laptops.- I thought that the 'proprietary' video cards had the Radeon chipsets in them. Do you have a source for your info?
