External drive eSATA

external drives with eSATA. why buy esata/sata cables?

how to use them with dell inspiron laptops since these do not have the sata ports.

suggest the cable/interface. (eSATA to eSATA or eSATA to SATA) for connecting an eSATA external hard drive to inspiron laptops.

any help appreciated.

I use a Lemel external 3.5" hard drive enclosure which has a USB 2.0 interface. My enclosure has a 500GB SATA II drive fitted. All the necessary cables were included with the enclosure.

Laptop computers that lack a built-in eSATA interface can be upgraded  with an ExpressCard version of an eSATA host bus adapter. This could be another option if your laptop has an ExpressCard slot.
