Hello I have been surfing this forum and the net but would like a definite answer. I have an Inspiron 8500 that no longer takes a charge from the DC jack. The laptop works but when I plug it in the charger does not charge the battery. The charger light is on and I tried a different charger as well no luck, so I know its something in the laptop. Could it be the power jack or the system board? Dell said replace the motherboard, that seems a bit excessive so if you can help please let me know what my options are. The laptop works but batteries are dead so can't use it :(

Has this happened to you can you share your experiences or point me in the right direction?
