Mouse/trackpad settings

The trackpad reset itself & I can't find how to change it. It's not (I don't think) in the "mouse" setting on the control panel.  Here it is:  I run the arrow over a passage, page, etc.  It highlights and chooses and opens it, all on its own, no button push, no nothing!  ANNOYING>  But I can't find where to fix it!  Thanks.

    Hi,

Welcome to the Community. Please mention your system model, when posting on the forum. I suggest you try connecting an external USB mouse to the system, and try uninstalling and reinstalling the touchpad drivers. To uninstall, click on start, right click on computer, click on properties, click on device manager, click on the symbol next to Pointing Devices, right click on your touchpad driver and click on uninstall, click ok to confirm. Once its removed, log on to support.dell.com, click on home users, drivers and downloads, enter your service tag to find drivers for your system. The touchpad drivers will be under the heading Input.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you

Just noticed this solution and it worked great for my inspiron 14r.  How do I eliminate the tapping click feature of the touchpad.
