I have a question regarding my Inspiron 8600.  I have a modular floppy drive and when I use files saved to it, it takes an extremely long time for the file to open or to move between various files.  If I click on anything while it is the process of opening, the system stops responding.  If I leave it alone for a few minutes, it eventually responds and opens.  This is a constant issue.  I recently had to get a new floppy for an unrelated issue, but the problem still exists. 

 

Is it normal for it to take a while to open files from a floppy or do I have a system problem?  I just purchased the notebook in November.
