returning wrong batteries outside 21 days

I have ordered 3 battery replacements and got it on December 2011. I haven't had the chance to check them since they are for relatives that live far from me. Now I tried replacing the old ones with the new ones a week ago, and ALL of them don't fit! I could understand one wrong item, but 3 of them?!

Anyway, so I tried returning them and the Returns department said I cannot return it anymore because its outside 21 days and they're not responsible for it anymore. Yes, that's Dell's orders department slogan: "we're only responsible for the mistake we made until the 21st day". Not to mention the rude manager I've talked to. Now I'm out hundreds of dollars because I called on the 45th day.

Seriously, Dell, smaller merchants have better return policies and customer service than you guys. It would have been less frustrating if it was a product that can be troubleshooted by technical support. But this is parts replacement, and if it was defective or incorrect, you have such a short window to make a decision.

Of all the merchants I bought defective / incorrect products from, Dell is the worse when it comes to issue resolution. I hope nobody else would experience my level of frustration.
