Auto update this morning 5.2. Did checks and an error appeared after finished. PCI tests DW 0 Driver error. What is this? Was fine yesterday when run. New glich?
Did an F12 test yesterday, but I didn't go on to the advanced one, and it was all clear...
Hi RobinLindleyUK:
That's good news. Since your ePSA Quick Test did not generate an error code it should be safe to ignore the DW-0 "analytical notation" displayed by SupportAssist v5.2.0.
Just for future reference, the ePSA Quick Test will start automatically when ePSA is launched, but after the Quick Test has finished you have to select the Advanced Test option from the right-hand menu. Be sure to clear the "Select All" check box (since running every advanced diagnostic is unnecessary and would take too much time), and then select the specific advanced hardware diagnostic(s) you want to run before clicking the Run Test button..
We've reached out to our team and received an update. The "PCI Status Test DW 0 DriverError" message received indicates that either the SSD driver is not up to date or is missing. Feedback to our engineering team has been provided to include better messaging that includes which driver needs to be updated.
So essentially users should look at updating their SSD driver if they are not experiencing any other issues.

If the PCI Tests DW-0 Driver Error only started appearing immediately after the SupportAssist 5.2 update and your system was previously passing all diagnostics, it is possible that the issue is related to SupportAssist itself rather than an actual hardware failure.
A few questions: What is your exact Dell model? Does Device Manager show any devices with a yellow warning icon? Are there any actual symptoms like crashes, BSODs, missing devices, network issues, etc., or is the system operating normally apart from the SupportAssist warning?
As a precaution, I would recommend: Running the built-in Dell pre-boot diagnostics (F12 → Diagnostics). Checking Device Manager for any driver errors. Installing any available BIOS, chipset, and driver updates. Re-running SupportAssist after a reboot.
If the Dell diagnostics pass and Device Manager shows no hardware issues, there is a reasonable chance that this is a SupportAssist 5.2 detection issue rather than a genuine PCI hardware failure. There have also been recent community reports of unexpected behavior and bugs after SupportAssist updates, so additional feedback from other users may help determine whether this is a wider 5.2 issue.
Please post the full error text or a screenshot of the SupportAssist result page if possible, as that will help identify which PCI device is being flagged.
I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊
@Sharan G Latitude E5570. No problems. Device manager clear. All updates up to date via Dell direct and linked to this laptop. I'll try the F12 check. Thank you for your quick response.
See Jackrandom's 23-Aug-2026 topic I have a problem about a similar DW-0 "analytical notation" for their PCI bus.

Went to 'I have a problem'. It was indeed exactly the same as mine. Did an F12 test yesterday, but I didn't go on to the advanced one, and it was all clear. Ran support assist this morning and the same 'error' appears. I presume it's just a glich in SA new update, but very annoying.
SSD card not up to date or missing? I'm on a Latitude E5570 Windows 10. Been running fine for years. No updates via Support Assist/Windows/Microsoft for that and last one available on Dell is from 2020? Are you sure this isn't just a glich from the SA update I got yesterday?
@RobinLindleyUK I would think its likely a bug as well simply because its an older model. the SA app may be looking for something that wouldn't be present in the older model. If you have no issues so far, and the diagnostic is passing, then I would agree with lmacri that it should be safe to ignore. Our engineering teams may need to do a bit more validation if this issue is not already on their radar.
