Dual 2408wfp colour issues

I have had a 2408wfp since march of 2009 and i bought another one today, put them side by side and the new one looks WAY brighter (better looking) than my old one, i guess i never noticed how bad the first one was in terms of colour until i put it beside another one. I reset both the monitors to factory defaults to make sure there is no settings differences between them and the new monitor looks absolutely amazing vs the other.  I even tried cranking up the brightness on my old one to highest yet it does get brighter of course but the colour still looks "dirty" sort of dimmed out I was wondering what could be the problem or how i can better test this and show it to you guys.

only way i can think of is taking a picture with a digital camera or is there other ways?

Hey Zoinky, I'm getting my third 2408 tomorrow because of problems. I already have a 20inch 2007FP, which I've been very happy with. But since I got the 2408, I've got colour problems, and a strange brighter left side of the panel?! The highlight gets more and more bright, the more you move from the middle of the panel til the left of the panel. And that is on both the first two 2408 monitors I got. I think they've send me a new model directly from the factory now, because I didn't want Dell to send me a third unit from the same manufatured serie, as they're probably all faulty.

But the brightness, that I also sees crazy brightnow, even at lower values. My brightness is in the 5-9 range, and my contrast a lot higher. But worst of all is, that I'm having big difficulties with getting the colours right. It's so hard to manage to set the screen right, just by judging it with my eyes. If my third unit it faulty, then I'm getting my money back , and buy a cheap TN panel monitor :-) Maybe its just as good?!

I am having the same problem.  I was sent another 2408, and when I compared them side by side (after a factory default reset), the new one is definitely brighter and whiter than my original screen.  Has anyone else experienced this type of issue?

I am afraid that this is a commonality for all monitors. I lined up three 2408WFPs at factory defaults. There are differences. You will have to adjust them to match as close as you can.
