I am experiencing a problem with my dell P992 monitor. I got the monitor in February along with a dimension 4400 computer equipt with a Geforce 3 Ti 200. The problem is that when i power up the monitor, all that happens is that the power light blinks between green and amber and a high pitched chirping noise is heard. The actual computer boots up fine. To troubleshoot, i powered down the monitor, unplugged the video cable from the computer and try again. Same thing. Then i tried a different power outlet. Same problem.

Based on forum messages, it seems that others have been having the same problem with the P992. One person said that before the actual faliure occured, the monitor would realign itself every time he turned it on. I too have had that problem before hte faliure. Also, i have been hearing that people are on their 3rd or 4th shipment of P992 monitor; i do not want to go through that hassle as well.

So my question is: What should I do? send it in? has anyone been able to fix the problem on their own? And why is it that dell has not properly addressed this issue in the past?
