The SE2416H Monitor does not support a VESA Mount.  If that's a critical issue for you, you may wish to purchase the 2414Hr.  Thanks.

There are adapters out there or take the plastic off the base and there is a metal panel you can attach to your VESA mount.

The SE2416H online User's Guide page 8 shows us that the monitor back panel was not designed to be removed by the end user. Have you actually done this back panel removal you describe on the SE2416H? If yes, technically the purchased warranty was voided.
